Fully automated processing of plastic fibres using Holzmag’s “Multi-edge cutting system”
With the “Multi-edge cutting system” Holzmag has developed a mechanical system which can process plastic fibres in a fully automated way. Here the opposing blades are positioned so as to align flush with the shaft edge. By the rotation of the shaft and the centrifugal force on the material, the thread material lying loose on the shaft bulges outward, where it then gets caught on the opposite blade and is cut. This happens both for the main cutter blade and the second cutter blade. This prevents the material from getting tangled up.
Controlled intake of material - even for the most difficult materials - using Holzmag Technology
The problem of uncontrollable intake of the material is apparent not only with threads, fibres, strips and sheeting, but also with fabrics such as textiles, sacks, ropes, or other long-fibre materials. The solution for this is to have a cutting system which divides up the fibres crossways to the longitudinal direction using a trapezoid or serrated blade, and a blade mount which is self-centring and protected against tipping or twisting. The cutter assembly should not draw in the material by its own movement, as that would block the machine immediately, mainly with fibre clumps or clusters. The piston must therefore be controlled in such a way that it immediately withdraws if the cutter assembly is stressed. In addition to this the cutting tools are arranged on the cutting shaft so as to allow a constant cutting frequency.
Avoid frictional heat - Holzmag knows how:
The Holzmag GmbH sieve unit will ensure the material does not get clogged up or deposited. This prevents any frictional heat building up in the sieve section. The controlled dosing of the shredding material to the cutter shaft means that no frictional heat is generated there either. It is important to prevent frictional heat because trapezoid or serrated blades which slide into the opposing cutter with a cutting gap of 1/10mm are firmly fixed without any play for movement, and should not get hot because the thermal expansion of the cutting unit would not allow such minute cutter gaps on the 2 m cutter shaft length at all.
Holzmag shredding systems with integrated, patented multi-edge shaft and cutter system
The models “PreciCut” and “MultiCut” embody the Holzmag GmbH patented multi-edge shaft and cutter system. The model series PowerCut follows the same shredding philosophy, although it is mainly used for the continuous input of material in the high-performance area of pre-shredded materials – especially for the preparation of domestic or industrial waste.
