Textile fabrics and fibres as versatile “all-round materials”
Textile fabrics and fibres are usually provided as raw materials or wastes from manufacturing and collection. Examples of this are:
- Clothes
- Fibres
- Jute
- Cotton
- Coconut fibre mats
- Carpets
Textile fabrics and fibres are recycled in the form of bales, rolls, batches, die-cut and edge off-cuts, thread remnants on spools and reels, or as loose material. In recycling, the materials are prepared so that for example they can be used for reinforcing structures in the case of felts, for undersurfaces, as building material, or for improving products.
The cutting process is of decisive importance for the production of high-quality and homogenous granulate and milled materials
To produce a consistent quality of uniform and homogenous granulate or milled product from the various different starting materials (weights, sizes), one needs a precise cutting process with an adjustable speed of material intake.
Holzmag cutting technology for processing textiles
The Holzmag GmbH cutting system prevents the cutting assembly from drawing in material in an uncontrolled way by itself, which would otherwise block up the machine.
Buffer belts or devices for loading the bales ensure a continuous and automatic feeding in of the material. In addition to this, a suction device is used for the textile shredding, which catches any dust arising, in the roof of the feed hopper.
The roll-loading unit which can be installed at the side, parallel to the cutting shaft, makes it possible to feed in material of lengths over 3 m, e.g. carpet rolls. Cutting tools of various quality grades, such as carbide or special steel, are used for the processing of textile fibres and textile fabrics.
